A walking path is 7/8 mile long. Colleen planted 14 bushes the same distance apart along the path. How far apart are the bushes along the path?
Planting 14 bushes in a line will produce 13 spaces
7/8 / 13 = 7/104 mile per space
7/104 x 5280 ft/mile = 355.4 ft apart
Another option would be with a space at each end for a total 15 spaces
7/8 / 15 * 5280 = 7/120 mile apart = 308 ft apart
I see no answer that I can calculate....are you sure you have the correct numbers in your Q post ?
I see what they did ....but it is actually incorrect ( see below)
7/8 / 14 = 1/16 mi apart <======= this is how they calculated the answer
I think you may be over thinking it. Instead of placing the bushes at the very front and the very back, you just put bushes in the very front and leave a gap at the end.
Obviously , I know THAT is what they were thinking....but I do not want them for my landscaper !!
Hey there, Guest!
We can solve this problem like this:
14÷7/8= 0.25 miles or maybe 1/16?
And there you have your answer.
Hope this helped!
