The formula for the area of a trapezoid:  A  =  (1/2)·h·(b1 + b2)

                                                                36  =  (1/2)·4·(10 + b2)

                                                                36  =  2·(10 + b2)

    divide by 2:                                          18  =  10 + b2

                                                                  8  =  b2
