Hello all,

I come back with a new question:

How do you do slopes, functions, and domains? And when are they used? Thanks.

Yeah, you can check out CliffsNotes, they're pretty good.

  • Click here to find out about domains.
  • Click here to find out about functions.
  • Click here to find out about slopes.

Hope this helps out! :D

Well, slopes are m in the y=mx+b formula (or the "Slope-Intercept" formula)

Functions are just about the same. Ex. f(x)=3x+27

Domains... Domains are a bit different. I am going to source CliffsNotes here. Ahem..."The domain of a function contains all of the possible input values that you can use — every number that can be put into the formula or equation and get a real answer."

If this is not what you are asking, please let me know. Thank you! :D

Thanks for the answer, but can you put in more details since I have never done this before? Thanks!

Slopes: Ex. y=3x-8

Slope is in bold.

Function: Ex. f(x)=14x2+9

Function is italicized.

Domain: Ex. f(x)=3x2+6 {1,5,25}

Domain is underlined.

Once again, the domain of a function contains all of the possible input values that you can use — every number that can be put into the formula or equation and get a real answer.

Thanks, my friend! I am starting to understand. I am a seventh grader, and I don't have sufficient knowledge about this...

Those are pretty wide-ranging topics, DS.......I doubt that anyone could cover all the info associated with each one on a forum like this.....

Maybe you had some specific questions???

cool cool cool

Ok. Thanks.

I want to know (in advance, because I am in this after-school program for Honor students, called HYPE Los Angeles) how to do functions and stuff like those on a graph please. I am confused, and until Tuesday next week, I will start learning a little, and I want to get prepared.
