Simplifying we get 6x+12-2x=50. Further we get 4x+12=50. SUbtract 12 on each side. 4x=38. x=9.5

3(2x 4)-2x=50 x= 2

all you have to do is split the 3x^2 into 2x^2 and x^2,so the problem will look like this: x^3+2x^2 + X^2 -4. This can then be grouped as (x^3+2x^2)+(x^2-4). then, you have to pull an x^2 out of the first quantity and factor the second quantity. Since the second quantity is the difference of squares, it can be factored into 2

3(2x + 4) -  2x   =  50

6x  +  12   - 2x   = 50

4x  + 12  = 50      subtract   12  from both sides

4x  = 38      divide both sides by  4

x  = 38/4 = 19/2  =   9. 5
