Is LaTex working yet?

\(x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}\)

It works in the preview but not when the post is complete.

I'm just going to try enclosing the quadratic formula in dollar signs and see if that helps.

If if helps for me, which I think in might, does it cause display problems for other people?

Let me know.

\(x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a} \qquad \text{No dollar signs}\\ \)

\($x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a} \qquad \text{Added dollar signs}$ \)

I have also discoverend that I do not need to go into LaTex box to do this, I can just type it straight in!

$x=\frac{1}{2}$   this is just typed straight in, now I am going to see what happens.

It worked perfectly!!

I think I have found the problem!  Well maybe anyway,

I had a  'Tex all things' extension on my Google Chrome browser.

I went looking for it when I realised that normal articles were being interpreted as LaTex!

Heavens only knows why that was there, but I am already thinking about how I might make use of it in the future!

I Have disabled it and I think/hope the problem is solved!     laugh cool laugh

Hi Hectictar,

My son was laying the pavers around the pool. I was trying to help him with the layout.

I did this in Geogebra but it really needed to be done in a CAD program.

I learned how to use Geogebra a little better while i did it though.

The pavers turned out to be quite different in size so it was not directly usable but I did discover some some layout problems in the corners which I think help in the planning.

Ultimately he worked it out on the ground as he went.  It came up really good too. :)

Oh, I just used this pic because it was handy, not for any other reason :)
