Using Pythagorean Theorem

a^2 + b^2 = c^2   where  'a' and 'b' are the short sides (legs) and 'c' is the hypotenuse (the longest side)

Example  :   right triangle with  legs of  4  and 'x'  and hypotenuse 5

4^2 + x^2 = 5^2

16 + x^2  = 25

x^2 = 9

x= 3 = this 'missing' leg size.....

(16x+8)/2   ?    IS that what you mean?

= 1/2  (16x +8)

= 1/2 (16x) + 1/2 (8)

= 8x + 4

You have to do thing s in specific order to get consistent answers....otherwise different people would get different answers to the SAME question because they did things in different order.

John:   2 + 3 x 4 = 24   (correct !  Do multiplication first)

mark    2 + 3 x 4 = 20   (incorrect....must do mult first NOT addition)

A couple of ways (and answers) to look at this

toatl distance travelled =  90 + 40 = 130 m

total time = 20 s       130/20 = 6.5 m/s  avg

If you are looking at how far away the car got from the starting point (using vectors)

90 - 40 = 50 meters from start   and it took 20 seconds     50/20 = 2.5 m/s avg

5.8 x 10^6  mg/s   x  1gm/1000mg  x 60 s/min = .348 x 10^6 gm/min  =  3.48 x 10^5 g/min

On your previous question, you asked what was sci notation for the number

the density listed is  .00142 g/ml   in Scientific Notation this would be  1.42 x 10^(-3)  g / ml

Where is your question?   You list a temp  and a pressure and a density.....but no question.

4/7 x k = -28

k = -28 x 7/4

k = -49

or

4/(7 x k) = -28

4 = -196k

-4/196 = k
