30 - (3x2) - (3x1) + 2 = 30-6-3+2 = 23 cookies left

Your equation is incorrect ...I assume you are using Pythagorean Theorem:
29^2 -20^2 = 21^2 (NOTE: 21^2 NOT 21)
There is an INFINITE number of line equations that pass through that point . Without being given 'm' or 'b' or another point, you cannot give a unique solution.
