In a RIGHT triangle  you can use the pythagorean theorem to calculate the sides of the triangle.

a^2 +b^2 = c^2    where a and b are the 'legs' and c is the hypotenuse

so:

10^2 + 100^2 = c^2

10,100 = c^2

c = hypotenuse = sqrt(10100) = 100.4987

f(x)=Cost A = 50 + 1.5 x        where x = GB

f(xb) = Cost B = 35 + 5.0 x    where x = GB

Do all of the calculations that are between the absolute value bars....then take the POSITIVE value of this

Example    |3 - (12x2) | = | 3 - 24| = | -21| = 21

...although Alan's and my answers are the same mathematically...his is w-a-a-ay simpler !

beacuse     3 ^(2.0959 logP) + 3

               = ( 3  ^2.0959)^(LogP) + 3

               = 10 ^ log P    + 3                   (sorry.....didn't proof read before 'enter')

               = P + 3                            Not sure why I didn't see this origianlly....needed Alan's jumpstartt, I guess
