Again with the dimensional analysis:

1000 B / (5 M x 4 D) =  50 Bottles/(Machine-Day)        50 Bottles per Machine-Day

1500 B/ (1 D x 50 B/M-D)  =  30 M     30 Machines required

f(x) = 1 = (x+12)/(x-4)     Multiply both sides by x-4

(1) (x-4) = x + 12             Add 4 to both sides

x = x + 16                        Subtract xfrom both sides

0 = 16       ERROR......  NOT TRUE.....This has no solution !

This is the equation of a line in the form of  y= mx + b   where m is the slope of the line

Slope of  y = - 3x + 4     is m=  - 3

g(4) = 7 (4) - 2 = 26

f(26) = 8(26) + 4 = 212     so  f( g(4) ) = 212
