Exactly how do you MAKE a 3-sided die?      Is it round on the ends?

A denotation for Planck's Constant perhaps?   Can you give some context?

Rate x Time = distance

train A    30t = distance

train B     130 - 35t = distance

30t = 130 - 35t

65t = 130

t = 2 hours

This has already been answerd in a previous post in the last couple of days.

Looks like the equation for the position of something at time = t        can't say much more than that without more info...sorry.

Couple of ways to solve this for 'x'    COmplete the square or Quadratic Formula

Completing the square:

x^2 + 4x - 16 = 0     Add 16 to both sides of the equation, then take 1/2 of the midle term,(4) square it and add it to both sides

x^2 + 4x + 4 = 16 + 4

(x+2)^2   = 20                  Now take the sq rt of both sides

x+2 =  + - sqrt (20)              Now subtract 2 from both sides

x =  -2  +- sqrt(20)

IF she splits EQUALLY , each have   5...but it doesn't say that she split equally.

First let's find the dimensions of the garden    l = length  l/2 = width

perimeter = 39 = l + l/2 + l + l/2      results in l = 13    l/2 = 6.5 meters

The 'lawn' in the middle is 2+2    =  4   meters less in dimensions   or   9 x 2.5 = 22.5 m^2

Some calculators will do this automatically for you....if not, then take the radian measure, divide it by 2 x pi and multiply it by 360 to get degrees .
