square both sides of the equation to get

(6y+2)/2y = 25/4

6y+2 = 50y/4           multiply by 4 to make things easier

24y +8 = 50y

8 = 26y

y = 8/26 = 4/13

24 slices   /  2 slices/person =  12 person

Use distance formula

(2a-4)^2   + (a-4 - -1)^2 =  (2 sqrt10)^2

4a^2 -16a + 16      +   a^2 -6a+9    = 40

5a^2 -22a -15 = 0    Use quadratic formula to find a =    5   or   -0.6    (if I made no mistakes!)
