This question is too hard to make sense of.

I assume some of thoses x's are  multiply signs.    Here it is best to use a * for multiply.  We all will understand that :)

You also have a y as well as xes.  Did you intend this?

if i subtract -12-(-20) is the answer of that will be positive?

Imagine this.

positive numbers are hot numbers and negaitive numbers are cold numbers.

You are in a freezer.

The temp is very cold at -12 degrees

You take away 20 degrees of cold.

If you are taking away cold then the space must get warmer so   - - = +

-12 - (-20) = -12 - - 20 = -12 + 20 = 20 - 12 = +8 = 8

theta = approximately     + or - 0.523

This does not translate very well from Albanian to English.

Perhaps if you add some numbers it may help.  The question appears to be incomplete.  :/

I have seen that method uesd, and I have worked through it in parrot fashion, but I have never committed it to memory.

It is a very good method though.

There is a good you tube out there somewhere on it  because that is where I amost likely saw it used.
