Maybe someone else will say something interesting    but    I'm just going to let you ponder that one all by yourself  :)

Deg stands for degrees and rad stands for radians.

They are different units to measure angles with.

Just like you can measure a distance with kilometers or with miles.

For normal maths operations like +. -,  * divide etc   you will see no difference but

if you are doing special angles things there is a big difference.

for instance  

sin30 = 0.5     if the calc is set to degrees

BUT

sin30= -0.988    if the calc is set to radians

all was kicked into the air from a balcony 20 feet above the ground, and the ball height above the gournd in feet t seconds after the ball was kicked is h(t) = 20 - 16t^2 + 32t. what was the maximum , in feet, of the ball above the ground after it was kicked?

\(h(t) = 20 - 16t^2 + 32t\\ h'(t) = -32t+32\\ h'(t) = 0 \;\;when\;\; -32t+32=0\quad i.e. \;\;when \;\;\;t=1\\ h(1)=20-16+32=36 \)

The ball will reach a height of 36 feet.

What is the slope of the line whose equation is −48=2x−8y?

−48=2x−8y

−48+8y=2x

8y=2x+48

now divide both sides by 8 and the answer will be the number in front of the x

well, even though 89 is a prime number, it is still divisable by 1 and itself...

57-5|4-12|

= 57-5*|-8|

= 57-5*8

= 57-40

=17
