\(7_{10}=111_{2}=21_{3}\)

Any positive integer, in any positive interger base, can be expressed in any other positive integer base.

You need to use a contour probability map for this.

Let the three pieces be  x,y and 5-x-y units long where

Now,

we want to know what proportion of this has all there pieces greater than 1 unit.

That will be where

y>1

5-x-y>1

Graph it and see what you get.
