Here is another way but i still had to cut the big one into 6 peices.

This is the bes I have managed so far but there is way too many pieces.

I divided the 9X9 into 5 peices and the 2x2 into 2 peices.

Or I could have divided the 9x9 into 6 pieces and left the 2x2 alone.   like this

I expect you do not know how to do it on paper either.

There is only a small difference between integral and anti-derivatives. 

They are more or less the same thing.

If you know how to differentiate a function (which is learned first) then integrating the answer will take you back to the original function (only the constant won't be known)

This is a very lay explanation. But you can think of integrating as being the opposite of a differentiating.

Much like addition is the opposite of subtraction.    x+5-5=x   They cancel each other out.

So for Tan (alpha)

Triangle ADB is right angled.   Why?

Which side is opposite (not touching) the angle alpha?

Which side is adjacent (touching but not the hypotenuse) of the angle alpha?

So what is tan (alpha) ?

Out of the people who have been active in the last month, you are 58th with regards to how many points you have scored over all time.

So it is a measure of how active you are and how long you have been using this site more than of how popular you are.  If you are popular or you give yourself a million points (like some people do - but it's not a good look) then this will boost your placement as well.   

You are right, I did double count.   

the only time I can see double counting is if they are all the same. 

So they all could be 2or 3or .....9 (8 possibiities)  They have been counted twice.

16000-8 = 15992

Elijah, that link doesn't work.

This has always been a bit of a problem.

The easiest solution, is to curser down the page before you start and then enter the latex in the middle of it so that the curser has already been above and below the entry point.

If you forget to do this you can click on the Latex and have the yellow box come up then hit the arrow key twice to place the curser after the LaTex.  then hit return and it will take you to the next line.

Another method, an afterthought method like the first, is to cut the Latex then add more lines then paste the latex back in half way down so that your curser has already been below and above it.

Also remember when you use Latex add something not in Latex above it. 

I often put 'Like this'  or something similar.

If the post only contains latex and nothing else then it causes entry problems.
