How do you multiply and simplify?
x(2x+1)(x-3)

x(2x+1) = x*2x + x*1 = 2x ²+ x

Now
( 2x ² + x ) ( x-3) = 2x ² * (x-3) + x * (x-3)

then you expand those brackets and collect the like terms.
Can you finish it?

If you had of wanted to you could have worked out what (2x+1)(x-3) was first and then multiplied by x afterwards.
You can multiply in any order
eg 3*2*6 = 2*6*3 = 3*6*2

Why didn't you just do it on your calculator? I just tried to do it on mine and I will admit I kept getting error messages.

(2.35E6)(-3.7E-3)
= -2.35*3.7 * 10 ^6-3
= -2.35*3.7 * 10 ^6-3
= -8.695 * 10 ³

heparin drip is to be started at 12units/kg./hr. Patient weighs 180 pounds. How many units will be infusing?

1kg = 2.20462 pounds

180 pounds = 180 / 2.20462 = 81.6467 Kg (4dp)

12units/kg * 81.6467 Kg = 979.67 units per hour
