A certain positive integer has exactly 20 positive divisors.

 

a.) What is the smallest number of primes that could divide the integer?

b.) What is the largest number of primes that could divide the integer?

 

this question has been asked and answered before, but i didnt understand it.. can someone clarify?

a. 1 because the number could be any prime^19, which has 19+1=20 positive divisors.

b. 3. We can start by finding the prime factorization of 20, which is 2^2x5 so there must be 3 primes.
