Another possibility..... Most of the oil tanks I see around here in oil country sit on the ground....so if you had to paint the entire surface area, you would paint the side(s) and the top....

Top = pi x r^2 = pi x 3^2 = 28.274 m^2

The side(s) = pi x d x h = 245.044

Total=273.32 m^2

ACTUALLY, you have it posted incorrectly....you left out the negative  AND  the -b part is also divided by 2a

x= (-b+-sqrt(b^2-4ac))/(2*a)

\(x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}\)

1/3 (-3)    + 14   =   -1  +  14 =   13

Likely , she did this part incorrectly:  1/3 (-3)   and got  '1'  instead of ' -1'    .....

Slope is defined as  rise / run    or   (y2-y1) /(x2-x1)      It does not matter which point you label as (x1,y1)   or  (x2,y2) , just use the formula......for your chosen points:

(-3 -(-7)) / (1-3)   = slope = (-3+7) / (1-3) =  - 4/2 = -2

This is the Pythagorean theorem for a right triangle  where 'a' and 'b' are LEG lengths and 'c' is the hypotenuse......if you have any TWO of the sides of the triangle , you can calculate the remaining side length using this equation.

1/2   / 4     =  1/2  /   4/1   =  1/2  x  1/4    = 1/8

Subtract  7w from both sides of the equation and you get

4w = 28        divide both sides by 4

w = 7

Just multiply them together.

2/5 of 630  =   2/5 x 630 =  2 (126) =252

3 divided by 2    is    3/2  = 1 1/2 = 1.5
