To answer this question I am using the diagram below...you can see that the side length of the rectangle is R the radius of the semicircle...ALSO the length is 2R. We are looking for the shaded area.
2 x 1/4 pi R^2 = area of semicircles= 200
so R = 11.28 2R = 22.56 so the area NOT covered is equal to 22.56 x 11.28 - 200 = 54.47
Thanx Alan....that is what I was (eventually) thinking....but was unsure of the question. Cool...

QUESTION: I'm learning here (sometiems) ......
wouldn't COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) be 5% 0f $2000?
Then profit would be 3000 - 2000 - 2000(.05) = 1000 - 100 = $900
Just wondering....that is the way I THINK it should be
YAH?
Multiply degrees by pi/180 to get radians.
(3/4) / (1/4) = 3/4 x 4/1 = 12/4 = 3
I am not sure what you HAVE, but add the distances togther and divide this SUM by the NUMBER of distances that you added together.
Do you know how to do scientific notation?
I am not sure what you are asking....can you clarify your question??
40 divided by 8 You DO KNOW that web2.0 is a calculator, right?
