The FIRST equation tells you what y is     substitute THAT into the second equation for y

5x -5(2x+2) = -20

5x - 10x -10 = -20

-5x = -10

x = 2      y= 2x+2 = 6

What do yo want to do with this equation?

y= mx + b form for a line?        y =  3/8 x - 3/4

If you need a discrete answer (x,y) you will need a SECOND equation relating x and y to get a solution....you must have the same number of equations as variables to get single discrete answers.....o/w there is INFINITE answers to this equation.

On the web2.0 calculator,  first enter the number of which you want the cube root , then the

' \(\sqrt[y]{x}\) '  key then the '3' key  then ' = '         this will give you the cube root  (or any other n root you enter)
