Downaward force = -55.8 N

Upward force = + 55.8 N                       Both have magnitude = 55.8

55.8 = m (9.81)      will let you calculate the mass of the object, but it isn't asked.

Normal force is the force acting perpindicular to the plane (ramp) and would be   mg cos theta    where theta is the angle of the ramp.   at 0 degrees cos theta = 1      as the ramp angle is increased  cos theta gets smaller and the normal force decreases to 0 at theta = 90 degrees.

If the block has any unbalanced forces acting on it, it will move. SInce it is hanging and not moving it has no net force, it will have a downward force of

f=ma     this force will exactly equal the upward spring force of kd      (k = spring constant    d = stretch of spring).

One is a downward force (say 'negative') the other is an upward force (say 'positive') but the MAGNITUDES are equal and they balance/cancel each other...so there is no net force acting on the block (net force = 0)

You are only HEATING the water...not BOILING the water....

   from your calc it appears as though you are heating the water from 10 to 100 degrees C.  The specific heat of water is 4.186 j/(gm-C)

      (you are using 4180 j/(kg-C)     The specific heat of liquid water is relatively constant below the boiling point. 

At a lower pressure (higher altitude) the water will BOIL at a lower temperature....before YOU GET to 100 C, but the enrgy needed to heat each KG of water from it's liquid starting point for each degree C up to the boiling point is still the same.
