Note

(3x  + 1)  ( 3x  + 1)  =   9x^2  +  6x   +   1

THX, Alan  !!!!!

Here's    (a)

-2x^2   + 8x   =   3x  +  2          rearrange  as

2x^2  - 5x  + 2  =  0

(2x  - 1)  ( x - 2)    = 0

Two  break-even  pts

2x   - 1  =   0                                                 x  -  2 =  0

2x =   1                                                          x =  2  ( thousand) = 2000 items

x = 1/2 (thousand)  = 500 items

a)   at  t  =  0.....the initial  concentration  is  0   →    (10)( 0) /  ( 25  + 0)  =  0 / 25   =  0

b)  as  t increases.......so  does  the salt concentration

c)

10t / ( 25 + t)  = 3.75

10t   =  3.75  (25 + t)

10t  = 93.75  + 3.75 t

10t - 3.75 t  =  93.75

6.25 t  =  93.75

t  =  93.75  /  6.25    =   15  minutes

a  +  b  =   4

(a + b)^2 =   16

a^2  +  2ab  + b^2  =  16

a^2  + b^2  =   16 - 2ab

a^3  + b^3  =  ( a + b)  ( a^2   - ab  +  b^2)  =

44  =  ( 4) ( 16 - 2ab - ab)

44/4  =  16  -  3ab

11  =  16 -  3ab

3ab  =  16 - 11

3ab  = 5

ab  =  5/3

In  the  form   ax^2  + bx +  c

a =  3

c = 5

The sum  of the roots  =   4  =   -b/a

So

4  = -b/ 3

12 = -b

-12  = b

The  quadratic   is    3x^2 - 12x  +  5

This problem  looks  interesting, but  I  have  no clue  as to the  solution......anyone  out there in TV Land   know  an approach  ????

Length  of   altitude  with  an  upward  slope   =  sqrt  (8^2  - 1^2)  =  sqrt  (63)

Length  of  downward sloping altitude =  sqrt  [ ( x + 1)^2  - 3^2  ]  =  sqrt  [ x^2 + 2x - 8 ]

Area of  triangle  =  Area  of Triangle

(1/2) (3 + 5)sqrt [ x^2 + 2x - 8 ]  =  (1/2) (1 + x)  sqrt (63)

8 sqrt  [ x^2  + 2x  - 8 ]    =  ( 1 + x) sqrt (63)

Not  hard  to  solve  but tedious.......with a little  help  from WolframAlpha

x = 23

dV /  dT  =    dV / dr  *  dr / dt

dv  / dr  =  4pi r^2

dr / dt  = (-6 in/ min)

So

dV   / d T  =    4 pi r^2  *  (-6 in /  min)

When   r  =  77

dV  / dt  =   4pi  (77)^2 *  -6 =    -447036.068  in/ min

a/b = 2

b/c  = 3/4   →   c /  b   =  4/3

(c / b)               (4/3)             4            2          c

______   =      _____  =     ___   =   ___  =   ___

(a / b)                  2               6            3          a

1)    Assuming  that EF  is   the  midline

sum of  base  lengths   /   2  =    midline  length

(10 +  8x  -  43)    / 2    =   2x       mult through  by  2

10  + 8x  - 43  =  4x

-33  +  8x   =  4x

-33  =  -4x

x =  33/4

And

6y  -1  = 2y  + 3

6y - 2y  =   3  +  1

4y  =  4

y =  1

2) FED =  BAD  =  35°

ADC  is  supplemental  to  BAD =   180 -  35  =  145°
