x^2 + 15x  +  k   =  0

The double root occurs when the  discriminant   =   0

So

15^2  - 4 (1)k  = 0

225  - 4k =   0

225  = 4k

k = 225 / 4

(x + 4) / (x + 5)   = ( x - 3) / 2  + (x + 7) / 5

(x + 4) / (x + 5)  =  [ 5(x - 3) + 2(x + 7) ] /  10

(x + 4) / (x + 5)  = [ 5x -15 + 2x + 14] / 10

(x + 4) / (x + 5)  = [ 7x -1 ] / 10

 [ 10 (x + 4)]  - (7x -1) (x+5)] / [10 (x + 5)]     = 0           multiply through by 10(x + 5)

[10x + 40  ] - [ 7x^2 +34x -5 ]   =  0

-7x^2 - 24x + 45  = 0

You can use the quadratic formula to solve this

The roots  of   (x-2)(x + 2)  =     2,-2

The sum  of the roots  of Ax^2  + Bx  + 1 =   -B/A

So  the sum of 2 + -2  = 0

Which means that B  = 0

The product of the roots   of Ax^2 + Bx + 1  = (2(-2))  = - 4  =  C / A  =   1 /A  

So

1/A  = - 4

-1/4  = A

So

A + B =      -1/4 + 0  =  -1/4
