I don't know how to fix it but you can lodge a error using the flag.  

Make sure you describe the problem (as you have here) and say the country, city or area that you live in.  (don't give your address)

The owner of the site certainly can't do anything if he doesn't have all the basic information that people with problems can give him.

When you see a number folllowed by a letter, without anything inbetween, there is really an invisable times sign between them.

so

8x  means  8 * x

The x is used instead of a box.

so you can think of 

 \(8*x=8*\boxed{\color{white}af}=-32\\ 8*\boxed{\color{white}df}=-32 \)

So what times by 8 = -32 ?        The answer will be what x equals

0          0                     9*10 = 90

2,      (0,1,2)               9*10*3 = 270

4,       (0-8)                 9*10*9 = 810

6       (0-9)                  9*10*10=900

8        (0-9)                 9*10*10=900

90+270+810+1800 = 2970
